The Galleries

These vessels, and functional glass and stoneware serving pieces, and jewelry are made by hand from over 40 different fresh fruits and vegetables that are transformed into translucent parchment in a 10-14 day process. These parchments capture and preserve the jewel-like colors and intricate structures of each variety of fruit and vegetable in stunning detail. No artificial dyes or chemicals are used in this process.

I call this Vegetable Parchment because the texture and translucency calls to mind the vellum parchments of medieval Europe. These Fruit and Vegetable Parchments are shaped into bowls, folded into flowers, and fused to pure copper to form cuffs, earrings and necklaces that last indefinitely.
